Request a Pilot Test
Bench and pilot-scale testing on your actual matrix — the step that turns a checklist pass into a number you can build a proposal around.
Why This Matters
A checklist or a feasibility score tells you EO is worth testing. A pilot tells you what electrochemical oxidation actually does to your water: real current efficiency, real electrode behavior, a real byproduct panel, and a defensible energy number instead of a literature range.
This specific contect covers what a pilot test confirms, what we need from you to run one, the typical timeline, and what happens with the data once results come back.
What a Pilot Test Confirms
Three things a checklist or an online tool cannot give you: real current efficiency on your matrix (not a literature range), electrode behavior over the test duration, and a full byproduct panel so there are no surprises at permit review.
Electrode screening runs your sample against the anode chemistries most likely to fit your stream, so the system design that follows is built on a material choice that has already been tested against your water, not assumed from a datasheet.
Sample and Data Requirements
A representative sample is the single biggest driver of whether pilot results hold up at full scale. We typically ask for a sample that reflects normal operating conditions, not a best-case grab sample, along with whatever water quality data you already have: COD/TOC, conductivity, pH, TSS, and chloride.
If you do not have a full analytical panel yet, that is normal at this stage. Part of the pilot scope includes baseline characterization before any current is applied, so missing data is not a reason to hold off on starting.
Timeline and Deliverables
A standard pilot runs four to eight weeks from sample receipt to final report, covering electrode screening, charge-loading optimization, and a byproduct panel run against your target discharge or reuse criteria. *Our pilot testing laboratory is located in China, however international shipping of wastewater samples to China are limited due to strict regulations on biological materials and environmental samples, in this case, we invite you to share us the baseline parameters to identify characterizations of your waste streams, then purchase or rent our electrochemical oxidation trial module and bench module to validate the treatment efficiency.
The deliverable is a written report, not a spreadsheet of raw data: current efficiency and specific energy consumption at the tested operating point, electrode recommendation with supporting rationale, and a preliminary sizing basis for the next design step.
What Happens After a Positive Result
A positive pilot result is the trigger for a design consultation: sizing the reactor to your actual flow rate, selecting the electrode chemistry the pilot validated, and building a cost model on tested numbers instead of a ballpark estimate.
If results come back mixed or negative, the report still has value: it identifies which pretreatment step or matrix adjustment would change the outcome, so the next move is informed rather than a guess.
4-8 Weeks Typical Duration
Sample receipt through final written report, including electrode screening and byproduct panel
Representative Sample Required
Normal operating conditions, not a best-case grab sample — baseline characterization is part of the scope
Full Written Report
Current efficiency, specific energy consumption, electrode recommendation, and a preliminary sizing basis
Understand the pilot process before you request a pilot test
The full technical requirements a pilot needs to produce results you can actually size a plant from.
What changes between pilot data and a full-scale plant, you know what pilot report really validate.

EO Pilot Test: What's Included, What You Provide, What You Get
Electrode screening across candidate chemistries, charge-loading optimization, a full byproduct panel against your target criteria, and baseline characterization if you do not already have one.
A representative sample from normal operating conditions, any existing water quality data, and your target discharge or reuse criteria so the byproduct panel is checked against the right limits.
A written report covering current efficiency, specific energy consumption, an electrode recommendation with rationale, and a preliminary sizing basis for the design consultation that follows.
Pilot Test FAQ
Cost depends on matrix complexity and how many electrode chemistries need screening. We provide a fixed quote after a short scoping call, before any sample is shipped. Water samples are highly restricted to be imported to the country our lab located for now, therefore we recommend you to order trial module or bench module to validate treatability.
Yes. Samples and water quality data are handled under standard confidentiality practice, and a formal NDA is available on request before any sample ships.
We provide sample containers, preservation instructions, and a shipping label if needed. Most samples ship via standard courier with cold packs if the matrix requires it. Reaching out to us if any further information needed.
The report identifies why, and usually points to a specific fix — a pretreatment step, a different electrode chemistry, or a matrix adjustment — rather than closing the door on electrochemical oxidation entirely.
