Environmental Service Water Sample Degradation Data Report

Environmental Service Water Sample Degradation Data Report

1. Experimental principle

This experiment uses the principle of electrochemical catalytic oxidation. It uses the BDD electrode as the main reaction device to finally convert the organic matter in the water sample into CO2 and H2O, nitrate nitrogen and ammonia nitrogen into nitrogen.

2. Electrodes

2.1 Anode: Two BDD electrodes with a single crystal silicon substrate with a surface area of 200cm².
2.2 Cathode: Three titanium sheets.
2.3 electrode plate spacing: 3 mm

3. Experimental operation

Take 1L of the water sample in the beaker, put it into the BDD electrode module (the actual anode area is 170cm2), connect the power supply, adjust the current intensity to 8A, the duty cycle to 80%, and the degradation begins. During the degradation process, the water sample is stirred with a magnetic stirrer to make it uniform. Take samples at regular intervals, record current and voltage values, and measure temperature and pH.

4. Experimental phenomenon

Environmental Service Water Trial Scale Testing Result, Key Operation Parameters and Major Characteritics

major parameters and data within the environmental service water electrochemical oxidation degradation trial testing processes

Reaction time/environmental service water trial scale testing time: it’s a total of 180 minutes, and sampling every 60 minutes during the whole testing processes.

This trial testing is conducted under voltage of some 6.4 volt, and keep maintain a good conductivity within different sanility, current density given the truth that the actual volume are changing during the electrolysis processes.

And the current is 8 Amp during this trial testing processes.

And to help people to get a better comprehension and estimation about the operation parameters we set, here we disclose the active anode surface area is 170 square centimeters.
